Sims 3 game is scratched

Hello i am Tyler or pyrotyguy as my EA name suggests. About a year ago i bought a copy of sims 3 from a best buy. i installed it on my computer and had played it for the next few months,  until i had to reset my computer. during this time my copy of the game got pretty scratched. So i heard that i could download from the EADM with my product key. So i treied this but it said the key was already used which i has been only by me though. is there any way i can still get my game to work or a copy of it without having to buy another game?

You can download the game throught the Origin Client which you can download here: http://origin.com/download. Log in the client, if you've registered the games at thesims3.com, the games should already be availble for download. 

If they're not, contact customer support
