@nmcpie  Did you uninstall your games before trying to install through Origin?  The idea is to just let Origin download the pack(s) that the EA App won't, not the entire game.  But if that didn't work for you, it's a moot point.

This issue is still on EA's radar, so hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

I did not uninstall my games. They just kinda did that

Hey, I hope you get a chance to see this but i’ve bought the Sims 3 and i’ve been experiencing so many issues. First it wouldn’t even run so i ended up using someone’s device on here (not sure if it was you) to download something called DX and it ran but then it uninstalled my Late Night pack and i was unable to use it and i tried to fix it so now my REdownload  for TS3 is stuck on preparing download. Sorry if this is a lot id love your help 🙏

@wavyana  I've moved your post to the master thread for this issue, which is that certain Sims 3 packs get stuck preparing.  You can try the Origin workaround described several times in this thread.  Other than that, you'll need to wait for EA to fix it, which will hopefully happen sooner rather than later.

Hi, I use Windows PC for Sims 3 and I'm also having trouble with the Pets pack. I saw that you said we could try getting Origin back but since I'm on Windows and it apparently doesn't work, do you know if there's another way to go around it?

@SizzleAbyss213  Origin doesn't work properly in Windows.  But it doesn't have to for this purpose.  Once it's open, it may download your missing packs automatically even as it's telling you to use the EA App instead.  If you want to try, here's a download link:

My Sims3 DLC will not download! The sims3 university and the sims3 showtime go through preparing and then say something went wrong. 

This all started after I was forced to switch to the EA app instead of Origin! I had them all downloaded but they stopped working and would not open. I thought I would just uninstall and then redownload them and that would fix the issue. Unfortunately, it fixed everything but 2 DLCs. I can get other games to download but I have had all kinds of issues with the sims3 and it's one of my favorite games. If anyone can help I would be so grateful!!
