Can't Download Some Sims 3 Expansion Packs

I cannot download the following expansion packs on the EA App. I would like to add I was forced by EA to download the EA App as I was no longer able to use Origin the only thing I could do was click to download the EA App. Next I can download every expansion pack and stuff pack except the following.

Pets

University Life

Showtime

Into The Future

Now I have tried the clear cache option but it doesn't matter. The download hangs on preparing no matter what and doesn't download even after 30 minutes of preparing. Glad to know I paid money for nothing.

So, I cannot install either Island Paradise, or pets. They prepare endlessly like its stuck in a loop. I have tried resetting my cache, running as admin, repairing my app and completely uninstalling [The hard way] and nothing works. I have looked around on other forums to find this is a consistent issue on the app. Yet there is no question on EA apps from what I can tell. Any ideas to fix this would be much appreciated.

I recently had this issue. The fix is to redownload the origin app. In order to do thag you have to make sure EA and any background EA programmes are closed via Task Manager. When you install origin and login you wont be able to do anything because theres an Pop up prompting you to download EA that you cant close. But you will see origin downloading/installing/repairing your games in the bottom left. Wait for that to finish close down origin all the way. Reload the EA app. Choose Sims 3 and in the game launcher under expansion packs/installed content make sure you tick active. Should be fine from there. It just worked for me

I like Origin better too. It won't let me re-download Origin.  How do you get Origin back?

@bev6usa  We can't use Origin anymore, at least not in Windows.  The idea is to install it and let it download your packs in the background even as it tells you to update to the EA App.  But if you can't download the Origin installer, then there's nothing else to do.

I have been trying for 2 weeks now to get 3 packs from my sims 3 games download using the EA app. They are stuck on preparing download and i'm so sick of it. No one has contacted me from the app yet and at this point I am wanting every dollar I paid back. Does anyone know how to fix this issue Or who I need to contact to get this fixed?

When trying to install The Sims 3 Pets expansion pack on my PC it is stuck at the 'Preparing' stage of the download and does not go any further, all the other expansions have installed correctly and I am only facing this issue with Pets. I have been in contact with EA Live Chat and have tried all the troubleshooting steps outlined by them but none of them have worked.
