@keating_brandyI'm sorry to ask, but what fix are you referring to? I'm currently waiting for Origin to go through all my games and will see if that works for my DLC thats stuck on preparing in the EA app...

edit: that did not fix it, will try keating_brandy's sollution

Hello, I am trying to install Sims 3 Showtime and Island Paradise but for some reason, it only says preparing and doesn't move further than that. I have uninstalled Sims and redownloaded it and all the other expansion packs download just fine except these two. I have emailed EA numerous amount of times and they never reply. Please help!

@hazxny I've merged your post with the master thread for this issue. You can try the Origin-related workaround mentioned several times in this thread, but other than that, it's an EA-side error that EA will need to fix.

I have been playing email-tag with EA for a good while now. They seem intent to blame the user side. I find that hilarious considering the fact that I have a year-old laptop thats top of the line and I still can't download. This is so infuriating and visibly malicious at this point.

@m2risa Please try the Origin workaround described earlier in this thread. It's the only way to address the issue at the moment, although it's been on EA's radar for a while and will hopefully be fixed soon enough. But since you probably don't want to wait, the Origin method is your best bet right now.

I have this problem with the Movie SP only. I tried the Origin workaround and it wouldn't download even that way. Also I noticed that when I try to download everything at once in the EA app, it doesn't put the Movie SP in with the other ones. It puts it in the queue as if it were just another game. All the other ones are under the "SHOW EXTRA CONTENT >" section.
