Sims 3 doesn't recognise my video card

I recently installed Sims 3 (+ the World Adventures expansion) on my new computer, and everything worked fine. Then I decided to change the in-game language, and after I lauched the game again, a message popped up that said it could not detect a compatible graphics card.

I tried reinstalling and kept the original language, but the same message comes up again every time.

I have an AMD Radeon R9 200 series graphics card and Win7 64bit ultimate. I've never had this issue on any other pc. I'm a noob when it comes to hardware. Was it me who broke something?
