Sims 3 crashing after black screen during launch process!

I got a new computer and I wanted to play Sims 3 Pets, but after it was all installed and everything, I got to launch screen and when I pressed play, a black screen came up for 5 seconds or so, then crashed. D: I recently got the update I don't know if thats important but it never did this on my old computer. I have been trying for two hours or more to find a solution, and never found anything! So, I decided to make my own forum! Please! I need a solution ASAP! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !  

PLEASE HELP I NEED MY SIMS 3 BACK!! :0

(PS. I'm not very tech savvy, so please give me a solution that my 7 year old cousin would understand!) ;D

@jessiethehorse14  What is your new computer? PETS is an expansion pack - do you ave the base game installed? Do you have Origin installed? Does the launcher work? What is the version of the game - lower left in the launcher?
