Sims 3 Supernatural not loading/responding

When I pull up the Sims 3 game launcher everything works just fine and the game is updated. When I click the play button and try to load the Sims 3 Supernatural the game does not load, is a black screen, and says it is not responding. I did download quite a few custom content today and shortly thereafter the game would not load. I am not very computer savvy so should I delete the custom content I downloaded today? I have a Toshiba Windows 7 by the way if that will help with what I need to do to fix the problem. I have also updated Origin and restarted my computer. Thanks!
