Sims 3 Mods Not Working

★ Novice

I recently got the Sims 3 disk last week, and my game has been running perfectly fine, but I am not able to use any mods. Each time I have tried to follow the instructions, of 1) making my own mods folder & 2) using the "Framework setup" one from Mod the sims it doesn't work. My pack files download perfect in game, and I am able to see them. I just am not able to see any of the package files that I input into my Mods folder. My "nointro" package file that comes with the mod the sims file doesn't even work as I am still able to see the intro. I have tried already tried most of the solutions that are available on the internet including: resetting my computer, making a new mods folder, deleting the cache sims files, deleting the mods folder and making a new one, redownloading the resources.cg file into the Mods folder. None of these things have worked. If anybody could please help that would be a blessing rn!! *PS I am on windows *

Re: Sims 3 Mods Not Working

@elser2  It sounds like your game may not be updated.  The launcher has always been inconsistent with installing updates, especially with very old versions of Sims 3.  The workaround is to run the Super Patch, which EA created to patch the game to 1.67.  You can find it here:

http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/TS3_1.67.2.0240xx_update.exe

Your browser may flag it because its address starts with http rather than https, but you can see from the URL that it points to EA servers.  So if one browser won't download it, try another one.  Run the Super Patch and then see whether the mods work.

If they don't work, please list the location of the Mods folder, and also post a screenshot of the contents of the Packages folder, so I can see the files inside it.

I don't work for EA. I'm just trying to help fellow players with their games.
