Sims 3 Into the Future Crashing

I bought SIms 3 Into the Future expansion pack yesterday. I let it install over night. I have opened it four times this morning. Each time I get to the menu just fine a dandy. I also am able to load family. But as soon as I start playing with said family (literally within seconds of it loading) the game stops working. I spent $40 on this game so it's a bit infuriating. I would appreciate the help. Thank you.
