December 2015
So I had some issues with my base game and new expansion Late Night not saving any settings. I figured this was because I could not update any of the game files using just core CD play. So I added them all to my Origin account and Sims 3 updated, I also updated Late Night. Now when I launch from icon I get this warning about how the base game version is not compatible with my expansion pack. So I tried to open it through Origin, and when I do that it says there is an error and when I hit OK it all shuts down.
Is this a common issue? And what can I do to fix it? I've lost all my game data and everything trying to fix the issue.

Laptop versions of these chipsets may work, but may run comparatively slower. Standalone cards that are installed in vanilla PCI slots (not PCIe or PCIx or AGP), such as some GeForce FX variants, will perform poorly.
Integrated chipsets such as the ATI Xpress and the NVIDIA TurboCache variants may default to settings that are higher than what would be optimal for them. Graphics settings can be lowered to improve performance.
The NVIDIA GeForce FX series is unsupported under Vista.

Laptop versions of these chipsets may work, but may run comparatively slower. Standalone cards that are installed in vanilla PCI slots (not PCIe or PCIx or AGP), such as some GeForce FX variants, will perform poorly. Intel integrated chipsets featuring underclocked parts will not perform adequately.
Integrated chipsets such as the ATI Xpress and the NVIDIA TurboCache variants will have low settings selected, but should run satisfactorily.
The NVIDIA GeForce FX series is unsupported under Vista.
Note: Attempting to play the game using video hardware that isn't listed above may result in reduced performance, graphical issues or cause the game to not run at all.
