Sim is stuck in basement and cant get her out and my twins arent showing up

Need some help,

My sim has just had twins and they've brought them home but the twins are showing as weird abstract shapes you can't see them and some how the mother holding one of the twins has ended up in the basement when there isn't a way to get in or out I have exited the game and gone back in but this hasn't helped.

Can anyone help please????

use the Reset cammand, do the shift-alt-c camand, type in Help, look down and find and read how to use it
