Showtime - Hosting a Sim

I accepted to host a sim, however the venue never starts!  I cannot send out my own sim or accept anything else (OR SAVE) until this happens.  I saw someone else was having this experience with the same sim friend I was having problems with.  Anyone else had this problem before?

Common problem. Simporting is so unreliable. I have not found out what triggers it.

Usually, if you wait until the show is supposed to be over, you'll get your stamps anyways. If it doesn't you can go to edit town or save the game, this should trigger a question if you want to abort. Just say yes. You probably won't get the stamps but you can send out your own again.
