Thank you so very much! I've taken so many steps to find a solution to this problem (even returning my original purchase and ordering a replacement of Sims 4) BUT, your option #3 worked perfectly for my particular situation! Hats Off!!!!

@mandyb898 I know this is late, but if you still are having problems: The Config.log text file you will find in the game's user folder, following this path:
Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 4
I guess noone saw your question before.
