SIMS 4:RUNNING ERROR

★★★ Newbie

Hi all.

Laptop type: DELL Vostro 15 5000 series.

Query: Sims 4 already running.

I just bought the game and it's providing me with an "already running error"

I already tried the following:

- Providing a share with everyone change in properties.

- Restarting my PC

- Clearing task manager and cache.

- Using my anti virus to exclude.

- Uninstalled and reinstalled Origin.

I have no idea what more to do. It doesn't seem to work on my PC and I find it quite frustrating that there isn't online help that actually works or is clear in translation.

Please assist - anyone! ☹️

Here are some tips on your issue:
https://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2015/08/game-already-running/
Run the game with Admin rights . Right click on the TS4 icon - run as administrator
Open Task Manager, look in processes and make sure ts4.exe or ts4_64.exe isn't running
If it will not help perform a Clean Boot

Re: SIMS 4:RUNNING ERROR

Could you try letting the game make a new game folder?
- Go to Documents\Electronic Arts\
- Rename the 'The Sims 4' folder to something like 'The Sims 4 old'
- Start the game, this will create a new folder.
- Test the game, if it works fine start moving folders from 'The Sims 4 old' over to the new folder.

Open Windows Defender/ Virus Protection Settings, and add all "exe" (Origin, TS4 and TS464) in TWO places. First one in "Exclusions" and the second one in "Control folders acces". Not only at one place but two.
