Hi! I have the same problem as the pixie22 girl like almost exact same issue. On my reliability report it was showing that my sims 3 launcher didnt work, im so confused because i just spent 20 dollars on this game and now i cant even play it. my sims 4 game still works so at this point im just upset and confused.

Hello, I am reaching out to EA Help for this issue because I have been trying to fix this issue for 12 hours straight. I have tried so many things and nothing has worked. So basically, when I go through Origin to launch TS3 Launcher, I press play in Origin, and then the Origin window disappears for 2 seconds as if it’s about to start the launcher, then it pops back up and nothing happens. (Such as the game launching the launcher.) I am about to list all of the things that I have tried, as far as my memory goes.
Things that I have tried:
- Deleting every file that states it’s The Sims 3 related on my laptop, and then restarting my computer and trying to reinstall The Sims 3.
- Uninstalling and reinstalling The Sims 3 through Origin.
- Deleting all Origin files except the local file and restarting my laptop, then opening Origin and signing back in.
- Repairing the game.
- Multiple Youtube tutorials
Any help is appreciated. Seriously. I have no idea what to do and this is my last resort.

@spectralfaerie Try reinstalling DirectX 9. You don't need to uninstall anything; just download the installer from Microsoft and run it:

Restart your computer afterwards and before trying to play.

@Kiarah001 Please undo any changes you've made (i.e. compressing files). Try reinstalling DirectX 9. You don't need to uninstall anything; just download the installer from Microsoft and run it.
