@EcthalionMCB You have the same error as three other people reported yesterday. I've merged their threads together and will merge yours, but first, please try the suggestions here:
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/Sims-3-Game-won-t-load-Windows-10/m-p/10697701#M247724
and in my next post in that thread.

@puzzlezaddict I really appreciate all your help. No dice on those suggestions. It's definitely the launcher. I got this error through Origin when trying to load after the name changes.

@itstoriduh Interesting. I double-checked that bypassing the launcher worked for me, but that was with an existing Origin install, not a fresh one.
Since it's mentioned in the error, try reinstalling DirectX 9. You don't need to uninstall anything; just run the installer from Microsoft and restart when it's done.

If that doesn't help either, please upload an Origin file called Client_Log.txt. Hit Windows key-R and enter %LocalAppData% in the run box. In the File Explorer window that appears, open Origin > Logs, and you'll find Client_Log.txt. You should be able to attach it to a post, but if not, upload it to a free filesharing site and link it here.

Hello. I have done both the top suggestions and still nothing I'm a little unsure on how to do the last suggestion. Again, thank you for your continued help

@gre3nleaf Try reinstalling DirectX 9. You don't need to uninstall anything; just download the installer from Microsoft and run it:

Restart your computer afterwards and before trying to play.

Today I bought sims 3 on origin and when I press play it exits origin then it pops back up a second later and doesn't open the launcher.
I've tried emptying the origin cache, uninstalling and re installing sims 3, checked if .NET framework 3.5 is enabled (it is) and I've pretty much scoured the internet for info in how to fix my game and so far nothing has helped...
I have included a DxDiag for info on my system and the diagnostics.

I have downloaded it, just having difficulty seeing how to run it as it keeps asking me to save extracted files to my computer.

Never mind, I got it eventually and it's working now! Thanks so much for your help!
