Repair game on Origin

I clicked on repair game for my Sims 3 island paradise EP. How long does it take and will it fix my problem with not being able to install it?

It says that I need the sims 3 installed which I already have.

What's your base game patch and was the game working before IP and can you pull your my documents/electronic arts/sims 3 folder to the desktop to see if this helps, thanks

Version 1.42 and yes Sims 3 was working just fine before I downloaded Island paradise. I'm thinking my game launcher might be outdated.

yep the newest version is 1.67
