@randimcohn I've split your post into its own thread, since the other thread was a bit old. Since you asked, there are a number of reasons why the game would run in 32-bit but not 64-bit; some are solvable, while others are not.
Have you been able to play the 64-bit version of Sims 4 before now? If so, when did it stop working? Does the 32-bit Legacy Edition work? (If you haven't tried, please don't download it, just let me know either way.) Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
