Promotional ad for simpoints on Sims 3 website missing

I haven't seen the box/link that allows me to watch the promotional ad for simpoints on the sims 3 website for months now.  Other people are able to view the ad just fine.  I've also never received the simpoints due me from watching the video before it disappeared.  I'm wanting items from the sims store but am afraid to actually purchase points for fear they won't show up in my account either.  I've chated with EA and they advised me to search help here in the answers hq section............why they didn't know the answer is beyond me, CAN ANYONE HELP?

The Ads have been temporarily disabled. Here's a post from a Community Manager that explains the recent situation:

Hi everyone,

As you have already noticed, the option to watch ads is not available right now.

We are investigating the issue we have been talking about in this thread. We didn't want you to watch ads and not get the SimPoints in return, so we have temporarily disabled them while we look into it.

I will keep you updated in this thread with any new information.
