Problems after debate showdown

I can't find my way around this forum. I did a search and stumbled upon some old bug reports and it says it's solved in a patch. I did reply to one of the reports but now I can't find it. Haven't played the Sims for a long time and yesterday I had 2 of my sims enter the debate showdown. Afterwards they couldn't switch from their uniforms to their regular outfits. Also, the showdown didn't end on the right time and the next event from the other organisation didn't start.

I tried to repair my game and it didn't help.
