@EL670419 The issue is likely that the version of Origin on your Sims 4 disc is wildly out of date, too much so to even update itself. It's best to do a clean uninstall and then download a new version. First, clear Origin's cache:
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
Then use Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine, either regular or portable) to remove all traces of Origin, except for the Origin Games folder. Here's how:
Next, download the full Origin installer. Here's the direct download link:
http://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe
Be sure to run both the installer and Origin itself as an admin: right-click on each and select "Run as Administrator." You can also download Sims 4 rather than using a disc. Just register the code in your Origin account, and the game should be in your library.

I'm having exactly the same issue trying to run the launcher, Origin is not out of date because it updated itself two days ago.
It worked once and since then I've had the same error.
None of my games will start, the launcher won't start.
I've attached my Direct X Diagnosis Report for anyone who can find any helpful information within it.

@misspantha It looks like Origin's update process is trying to run and crashing. (Even if it updated a couple days ago, there could be another update.) Try running it as an admin, as in, right-click on the Origin shortcut and select "Run as administrator."
And your C drive is critically low on space. Try clearing up another 15 GB (20 total is a good goal), although anything above 15 GB should be okay for everyday use.
If that doesn't help, please clear Origin's cache and uninstall it "the hard way":
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/
Restart your computer, download the full Origin installer, and run it as an admin. This is a direct download link:
http://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe
Run Origin as an admin too, at least until you know it's working.

@1stresponder911 Origin's update tool is crashing, over and over, so Origin can't actually update itself and throws the error instead. Please try the steps listed in the post immediately above yours.
