I just purchased the Sims 4 Deluxe Edition and i cannot start the game.  I am getting the error 

Unable to start game.  Origin is not currently running. Please make sure that Origin is running before attempting to play the Sims 4.   [d3382ced:984c6a38:00000000]

thank you for that ... gave it a go - the pack was "uninstalled" (ready to be downloaded) however it didn't solve the problem - still getting the error re. Origin not running

There may have been an Origin update in between us installing TS4 and this error starting ... do you know of a way to roll back the Origin install?

I have just bought the sims and downaded it and everything, played it fine for one hour, then i come back to play it again and a message pops up saying. "Origin is currently not running. please make sure that origin is running before attempting to play the sims 4." i have reset everything and all that but this message still keeps poping up. In the time i did have playing the game all the buttons and loading screens were strange and made up of purple lines for some reason, but id rather that then not even being able to play it. Please helpp

I'm getting the same issue and I never even installed the holiday celebration pack. Something else must be the problem.
