Origin In Game not working in Sims 4

So I've been trying to connect my new twitch account to my Sims 4 game so that I can stream the game. When I try to open the origin in-game, nothing happens. I have already tried to simply reset the short-cut for the feature and even uninstalled and reinstalled the Sims 4 game. neither of those things worked. has anyone else had issues? or could someone offer a solution to the problem??

I appreciate this in itself is not useful but I wanted to comment that I had this issue recently myself and it actually fixed itself after the recent origin updates.

And it started working again days after I reinstalled origin and sims (to no avail), and it just started working again.  I had fully given up by that point.

So I'm not sure what it is, but definitely make sure you keep origin updated, at the least.
