Not loading

Game wont load at all. Click on the desk top and the origin window opens. When I click Play on the Sims 4 it just loops back and never loads up. It was fine before the latest patch, what gives?

@cwa427  The solution will depend on the cause of the issue, which can be different for each player.  There are a lot of reasons Sims 4 might not open.  Can you please try the steps in the previous post where you also replied and let me know how they go?

The easiest first step is to pull your Sims 4 game folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  If the game works, the problem is something in your game folder.

When the game loads, if it does load, TS4 will spawn a clean game folder with nothing in it.  Use this folder to test your mods and cc in batches (delete localthumbcache.package after each test), and when you've sorted through that, you can move your Saves and Tray folders from the old game folder to the new one.  Here's a list of everything you'll find in your game folder.

Next would be to try clearing Origin's cache, and if that doesn't work, uninstalling Origin "the hard way" and reinstalling.  You don't need to uninstall Sims 4 again.

If nothing helps, we can go from there.  And just to be clear, a simple uninstall of Origin wouldn't remove all its associated files.  That's why it's necessary to clear Origin's cache and then uninstall it "the hard way."
