Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I wish i knw
What happens when the bug occurs? Nothing...nothing at all
What do you expect to see? a pop up to say that event has begun and an option to call the event coordinator on my Sim's phone, within the social tab
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Updated game on the 13th November 2018, to include the new event, career, clothes, terrain tools etc etc

Despite updating, going in and out of game and repairing I am neither getting the event pop-up, nor have the ability to call the event coordinator on the phone
All the other updates ARE in place...just missing the event

EA directed me to post my problem here and after an internet hunt, couldn't find the problem elsewhere.

have you tried a factory reset yet ?

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

• Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
• Tray Folder
• Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
• Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
• Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
• Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

it's on an existing save....

after exiting several times, sometimes I have played for a bit and saved or exited and not saved.
Want me to try on a new game?

Yes please. Check if it's also affecting new ones.

Have you done other challenges with this game ? Also make sure the Hide Challenge option is not checked in your game (although that should not have any effect on the option on the phone)

Same thing on a brand new sim.
I have done easter, day of the dead and plant challenge...unsure if I did any others right now...can't think. And yes, all those were on the sim that I am getting nothing on right now
And as you can see, this lil box for hiding the challenge is , unticked.
On the plus side, at least this shows the event SHOULD be there

Just to be sure, did you only try a fresh Sim or also click new on the main menu and start a brand new save ?
