Need help activating my sims 3

I made an origin account and entered in my code that i found in my sims 3 disk. It says it has already been used before though and wont let me do anything! I bought this new from EB games today what should i do?

Please keep in mind that if you bought the game off Origin, it is AUTOMATICALLY registered FOR YOU! To get your accounts connected, simply use the same details as you use for Origin.
