My sims 4 game wont play when I press play?!

Could you check if you have a process ts4.exe running in the background.
Did it ever work for you ?

I have the very same problem like you! I wont play after I press play but it works once after it updates then when I get of the game (Leave the game) and I press play again to play, I wont play the sims 4! 
Did you check if the process is still running ?
Try deleting your Origin cache or repair the game by right clicking on the game on the Origin client
