Yeah I just wish I wasn't this person with such an obscure problem. I see so many people streaming and playing the game. Also many people seem to have clear solutions, I've tried every solution and tip out there so far. Oh well, yeah wish me luck. Thanks for the reply though and your time.
I'm getting the same issue. Funny thing is I can play the Create a Sim Demo just fine. Ugh, this is so aggravating.

Clearly, something must be wrong with the game, maybe the developers will release a patch to fix it soon? (Or whatever it's called.. like they had it sims 3)
I downloaded the demo the other day to see what it was like before I brought it but it wouldn't open it just shut down my computer outright and did an automatic restart. I thought maybe there was a problem with the demo and I did have all the Sims 3 games installed so I brought it anyway. But now the game is doing the excat same thing and it's driving me crazy now. I've tried to make sure my security is turned off and proxys aren't on but still I'm having sever problems.
Have you tried running in windowed mode? To enter windowed mode, click on the 'i' button next to the Play button in the Origin client. Then click on Game Properties. Then enter -w in the game properties text field and click on Apply. Then try the game again.
Here's a list of everything I have tried.
Fresh install of Origin and Sims 4 multiple times.
Installed to two different hard drives, HDD and SSD same issue.
I have tried windowed mode, running compat mode with win7 and xp.
All of my drivers are up to date, vc++ is up to date.
I have tried repairing the game.
I loaded it onto my laptop and it launches no problem so I know it's not a licensing/account based issue.
I have cleared my caches.
I have cleaned up the registry.
I have tried running it on a test administrator account.
I am going to try to re-validate and re-activate Windows to see if it's an issue where it thinks I don't have win8.1 activated.
Bump, this is exactly my problem as well.
Gone through every single thread about this and done everything recommended.
Went through support chat. They were no good as well.
