Mods wont turn back on? HELP!

I updated my game and went back into the game. it showed with the usual telling me I had to reenable and restart game. I did that, and they disabled again. It keeps doing that, I even looked up online how to fix it. only thing that came up was to move options to desktop. I did that and t caused a major crash, so I put them back. My mods still wont turn on, HELP!

Hello. I fixed it by deleting the new sims 4 file and using my backup one cuz i gave up. It now lets me use my mods. Sadly, i accidentally deleted everything in mods folder (other than resource cfg) in a desperate attempt to fix it. I now have no problem reinstalling my mods so thanks for attempting to help me. have a great week

Removing the options file should really not crash your game.

Could you try renaming your entire user folder and let the game create a new one. Then put all files back but the options.ini.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking me to do? rename what?

I'm not sure if what happened is a huge problem, but when I put options to desktop all my game files break. Is that supposed to happen? Will it fix? and, it never loads CAS when I do that.

Ok, I move options to desktop, and now when I click "new game" It shows up with white screen and it stays on that. Then I load a game, it says my game didnt save correctly, and it shows up with the "moving" screen with no family there. Can someone help me out?

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

• Tray Folder
• Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
• Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave)
• Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
• Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

I also dont have many save games so im ok with them being gone :D but I cant even get "new game" to work D:

All you need to do is rename the folder in documents. Then start the game. A new one will be created. Check if it works.

If it does, you can start putting your old saves back.

It made a new folder.. Now do I delete the one that I renamed?
