I'm having the same problem. My Sims 4 game is shaded and when I click on it the 'Play' button is also shaded.

I am also having the same problem! The Sims 4 for my PC will not launch. It's shaded, like you said. I just spent two hours doing virus scans, defragmenting my hard drive, and trying to update everything. But it didn't help. It has to be something wrong with the game its self.

when this was happening with me I would uninstall the game and origin then re install them and this helped for me...good luck.

I am also having the same problem I'm a PC user and my Sims4 is also shaded and it won't let me hit play.

What operating system are you running on your Mac? The Sims 4 requires OS X Lion 10.7.5 but OS X Mavericks 10.9 is recommended. If you are running OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 you will not be able to play the game unless you upgrade your operating system.
