Lost game pack

★ Novice

Hi,

So I've had all of the expansion packs for years now, except for Island Paradise (bought recently) and Into the Future. I just got a new computer so I put the whole Sims 3 folder onto a flashdrive and put it on my new laptop. Everything was fine for a while, but one day, I opened up the Sims 3 and all of my custom content (that I've had since like forever) was gone and my account is claiming I don't even own University Life, which I know I had downloaded and linked to my account for sure. It just disappeared and unistalled itself. It's asking me to buy it if I want to play it, but I don't want to pay for a game I already bought and was literally playing last month. I am lost. I don't know what to do. I do not have the product code anymore as I got it years and years ago.

Re: Lost game pack

@oreobroccoli  There are two different issues here.  The first, the disappearing custom content, could have a few different causes.  Are all of your saves still available to load?  What about your store content?  The way to try to fix this depends on whether the files have been moved or are just corrupt or otherwise not loading.

For the second issue, try clearing Origin's cache, and if that doesn't help, uninstalling Origin "the hard way" and reinstalling.

If these steps don't help, it's possible that you received a bad code, and EA has only now deactivated it.  It's also possible that there's a mistake on EA's end.  The only way to find out is to contact customer support and ask specifically what happened to your University Life code.

You can still find the product code for UL on your computers, unless you cleaned the registry after uninstalling.  (This wouldn't happen on its own unless you have a cleaner app on your computer.)  Here's how:

I don't work for EA. I'm just trying to help fellow players with their games.
