Lost Sims 3 data after attempting to recoved bad file.

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this or not. I am new to this forum. Well I loaded my sims 3 to find it was corrupted and ended with .bad files. 

So I followed advice and tried to recover the file by putting the whole kit and kaboodle on my desktop. I deleted what I was supposed to delete. Followed all direction. 

So after that I load the game to not only find the person I made was there. But everything I had once downloaded and all mods are gone. I have looked everywhere for them and they are gone. And yes, I tried the recycling bin. Nothing. Please tell me there is a solution to this I'm tired of losing my saved games when it glitches. I had such a great game going too....

@imzadi35  The Sims 3 folder you moved to your desktop should contain the missing data.  Has that folder disappeared too?  If so, is OneDrive running on your computer, and can you find a backup copy of this folder on onedrive.com?  Please check both My Files and the Recycle Bin.

Yeah, I looked and couldn't find it in that either. I'm going to sadly have to start over. This seems to be a repeating issue with The Sims. It works for a while then glitches out and you have to start all over. I wish there was a permanent fix to stop the glitches.

@imzadi35  Data should never just disappear like this.  I'm not sure OneDrive is the culprit here, but if you'd like help getting rid of it, or at least keeping it away from your Sims 3 data, let me know.

yes please, it was really odd that this happened good thing I had sence apparently *I found a folder in my portable hard drive* that had all the houses I had made and people. So least thats the good news but yeah I want to get rid of the onedrive.

Choose whichever category suits you and follow the instructions.  If you get stuck on a particular step, let me know what you're trying to do and how it's not working.

I personally don't have OneDrive linked at all, but it IS possible to use it selectively while preventing it from syncing your data automatically.
