Launching The Sims 3

★★★ Newbie

Hi there, I am having a problem with launching my game. I have been playing TS3 since I was young but haven’t played it in a couple of years but last week I redownloaded it onto my new laptop and I was able to play for a couple of days problem free. However when I tried to press play on the launcher to launch the game a few days ago the following pop up appeared which I included as an image. If I select “yes” then the launcher shuts down and it takes me to origin and the sims does not launch. If I select “no” a pop up appears which says “Error The process could not be started.” I have tried bypassing the launcher, repairing the game on origin and I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I don’t know what to do now or if there is any way to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

@kaden_pattersonn  Please clear Origin's cache, then uninstall it "the hard way."

Restart your computer, reinstall Origin, and run it as an admin: right-click on the shortcut and select "Run as administrator."  Then repair Sims 3 again.  You can't bypass the launcher with an Origin install, but you can start the game from TS3.exe; please do so and run it as an admin too.

If these steps don't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Uninstalling origin and deleting the cache resulted in the same thing happening when I opened TS3, however this time when it happened a troubleshooter menu popped up asking if it ran as expected and after this, it worked fine again. So now my game is back to normal. Thank you so much for your help!
