Issues after the release of The Sims 4 Create A Sim Demo on JUNE 29, 2020

Hello, after the update for The Sims 4 Create A Sim Demo was released on JUNE 29, 2020, CAS-Demo wants to install Microsoft C++ 2010 in order to complete the update. It gives me a choice to install or cancel. I cancel since a newer version is already installed on my pc. If I say go ahead, it says a newer version is installed. It is an endless loop. I also started having problems seeing Maxis notifications in the gallery about the same time. I do not know if it is related but I never had any problems until this update. Any advice on how to get rid of this?

Try to download the files directly from Microsoft. Both x64 and x86 are needed:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13523
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4032938/update-for-visual-c-2013-redistributable-package

Also run SFC /scannow

ok I'll give it a try. I don't know if manually trying to do it will help since the message is saying a newer version is already installed but hey I'm wiling to try anything. Thanks for the suggestion. I will come back with an update

I went and followed your instructions. Now it says update in queue and it hasn't move. Before it was saying ready to update. Also I still can't see Maxis notifications on the start up page which could be a separate issue but it started at the same time. I'll let it just sit and see if it will install. Thank you for your help. I'll post back if it resolves itself.
