Issue with traveling and social events error

whenever I try to go on say a date with my sim, or try to plan a social event, and pick a lot to travel too it will let me choose then start to load but then it will take me back to the family selection map screen where it comes up with this pop up if I try to get back to my family or to another lot 'The game failed to load. Error code: 122:9978f517:df9ead2c. It is recommended that you relaunch your game. 

I've tried everything to fix this, I have relaunched that game which fixes it until I try to travel again. I have tried taking all my mods out and tried that. I have deleted my sims folder starting on a virgin game and it is still happening.

It started happening after I bought and installed snowy escape. 

Please help!

Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same problem and I have tried everything.
