Installing issues

I purchased the sims3 expansion pack, it is on a disc. it will not install in origin. it just says "preparing to install" for a day now.

What do I do?

@jordieleeh try downloading it digitally: 

• Download the Origin client http://origin.com/download
• Register your game if it isn't already registered by going through redeem product code in the Origin dropdown menu
• Go to your My Games
• Download
