Installation Sims 3 World adventures

★ Novice

I was re-installing my Sims 3 games via origin and everything was going well but I noticed that the world adventures pack wasn't in my download list and that I had to buy it again. The thing is that I do have the game, but I can't re-install it using the DVD because my computer doesn't detect the DVD anymore so i'm kinda lost and I don't know what to do...

Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do..??

@Lalapout  If you open Origin and click on My Game Library, there's a button in the upper right corner that says Add a Game.  Click on it and select Redeem Product Code.  You can also use the store site, if you prefer:  Sign in, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click Register a Game.  (Don't use Redeem a Code, which is for worlds and other bonus store content.)

The other option is to go through ea.com.  Hover over your username and select EA Account and Billing.  This will open a browser window with your account information; one of the tabs is labeled Redeem Product Code.

From what I've read, the store is the most reliable way to go, although you sometimes need to clear your browser cache to get the pack to show up.  Origin occasionally misfires, but you can contact EA customer support to get it sorted out.  However you go about this, if WA doesn't appear in your Origin library right away, clear Origin's cache (Windows) or run the Origin reset tool (macOS).

@Lalapout  If you still have the code for World Adventures, you can add it to your account now.  Even if you've lost the insert that came in the CD case, you might still be able to find the code.  Any computer that previously had the pack installed might still have the code, as long as you didn't manually clean it out after uninstalling.  Here's how to find it:

Windows:  https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2013/09/how-to-find-your-serial-number.html

macOS:  https://bluebellflora.com/finding-your-serial-key-using-terminal/

If the code reads as used, is it possible that you added it to a different account?  Using it on the Sims 3 Store site would count, since the store and Origin share information.  If this is the case, you can ask EA customer support to merge your two accounts.  Keep in mind that the account getting merged will likely not transfer its store content to the new one.

If you have the code but can't figure out when you might have used it, you can always contact EA support to ask for help.
