Ideal Laptop for Sims 3

★★★ Novice

Hi Everyone. I want to buy myself a new laptop to play sims on. I have the base game  world adventures, pets, island paradise, showtime, generations, late night, seasons, high end loft stuff and 70s 80s and 90s stuff that I want to upload. Will this laptop work ?

@Neethling7  The laptop you've listed would probably run the base game, on low settings, and any stuff pack you'd like.  But it's not going to be able to handle Pets, Seasons, or Island Paradise, and probably not Showtime either.  Whether it could run World Adventures and Late Night would be a close call, even on the lowest settings, but I wouldn't recommend it—you could end up overheating and damaging the computer.  In fact, even the base game would put more stress on the hardware than it's designed to take, especially over the long term.

Laptops that can run all TS3 packs on high settings are usually $900 U.S. and up, although I can often find one for under $800.  Prices will be higher in other countries, although how much depends on the country.  I could look for better options for you, but there won't be anything in the price range of the HP.  If you're interested, just list your budget and country, as well as anything else you'd like to do with the laptop, like other games or apps you want to run.

@Neethling7  I'm sorry, but you won't be able to find what you want for R6000.  The laptops in that category might run the base game and a couple of early expansion packs, but Pets and Seasons would be entirely out of the question.  Players with that kind of hardware find that it struggles mightily under the load, and many have to stop playing entirely.

I checked three different sites, and the cheapest option I could find that would run all Sims 3 packs was this one, for R12,000:

https://www.evetech.co.za/asus-tuf-gaming-fx505dy-rx560x-ryzen-5-gaming-laptop-deal/laptops-for-sale...

It doesn't even come with an operating system—you'd need to buy and install Windows 10 separately—but the rest of the hardware is sufficient.  The graphics card is barely strong enough, but I have almost the exact same model in my laptop, and I don't have any trouble with TS3.  (The processor and RAM are both above requirements.)

To give you an idea of what's out there, here are some other models I found that would be good enough:

https://www.takealot.com/asus-tuf-gaming-15-intel-core-i5-15-6-gaming-notebook-black/PLID51971156

Again, I wish I could find you a good laptop within your budget, but it's simply not out there.
