This did work for me. I don't even keep my game on Drive C, but deleting the packs reinstalled them and all is working.

Sorry for the confusion: there's not a Spoilers folder. What I meant with 'open the spoiler to see...' is that you click just below that sentence where it says 'spoiler' with a grey background. If you click on it you will see a list of packs.

@MoonyLuna16 Your saved game files are located in your TS3 game folder in Documents, specifically in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves. This folder will not be affected by the process that Mai described in the first post. Still, if it would make you feel safer, you could copy your saves to somewhere else, or you could just backup your entire game folder. (That's a good idea anyway, as so many things can go wrong in this game.)
