It looks like this is still on the list of things for the team to look into.
Are you still seeing the issue with new saves? If so, have you tried clearing more file space?

Hi, I'm another gamer experiencing some disappearances of my builds at some times and I found a solution for myself but I must say that I think my problem stems from the way I was personally playing the game. I would build homes and save the game and later visiting another family I saw sometimes my builds would have reverted back to original game lots. Now, saying that I think lots of people have a more serious issue than myself, my solution was to always open the game from my last play, and from the main town screen then choose the family or world I wanted to play in. I did rebuild one missing build and family, but it reset their progress as if Id never played with them before. After starting to play from only the last saved play and then choosing what family to play with or always coming back to the main town screen to choose a new build to do or a new town to visit, this works for me.
My disappearances were happening when I started playing from an older saved game, and played or built there, and then days later starting play from another save point and my builds weren't there. Now I always start from my latest save. This may sound as if I'm stupid, but I was under the misunderstanding that each family was being saved as it's own save so I would choose various older saves because that's the family or build I wanted to work on today. Now I know that the game saves laterally, not family by family. Since starting to always start my play from my last save point and choosing from the main town screen that takes me to, I am still missing a few families or they are an older version of family or build, but I seem to have repaired or recovered most of my stuff and I'm living with the few that are still missing or original. This works for me. Hope this might help you to some degree.

There were some improvements last November to prevent this issue from occurring, but it looks like those improvements may not have fixed all scenarios.
Unfortunately we haven't been able to determine the cause of the more recent occurrences yet.

Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Pets, Camping, Get to Work, Toddler Stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Use a Sim to travel to a resident household or Other lots.
What happens when the bug occurs? The house disappears when you take a Sim to a lot, you can not make them move into the lot and it is then gone from your map when you exit into "Manage World"
What do you expect to see? A house.... or other building
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
So this has been happening to me for a bit and it's been very irritating. I've lost a lot of progress on my games and had to start my houses over because of this glitch. I've already tested to see if it was my custom mods and there was not a change in the outcome. If you can please figure this out, it'd be wonderful!!
Here is a picture of what you'd see when travelling with your sims to a lot. Nothingness.

when you removed your mods have you try to clear your cache files and repair your game after ? and have you tested this in a clean un-moded new Sims 4 Game Folder ?
