I waited hours and days for my sims 4 to load and It wont load

I waited days and hours for my sims 4 to complete loading and then when it did it said error something went wrong, And I'm very upset and sad because now I cant play the sims 4 My Mother  paid for just for it not work, Please help me load up sims 4 someone, My mom bought the sims 4 a few months ago and is no longer with me due to some issues, And now I'm on my own to figure how to make sims 4 and I'm only 12 and don't know how to load it up because it takes so long to load and I really just need help ASAP

@068001  What was the specific error you saw?  It would be helpful to know exactly what it said.

Sims 4 shouldn't take more than a few minutes to load, maybe more on a slower computer, but still minutes rather than hours.  So something else is likely wrong here.  Please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
