I can't use the gallery for a year now

I have had the sims 4 from 2016. About a year or so ago I ran into this issue of my gallery being unusable. I can't see anyone's post, not even Maxis, instead it has red X's and when you click on a post it says cannot locate the item.

I have a feeling this has to do with a bug sims is ignoring because during this period of time it would randomly start working correctly to then stop working in the same gameplay.

It has greatly affected my gameplay considering I can't see lots I downloaded from the gallery in the world.

Houses and other buildings are invisible until you are playing the household or lot which is really annoying.

I have looked for months through forums with other PC players who have this problem and unfortunately, none have found a solution. Is there something I can do?

@TaylorSweetie Can you check in McAffee if it has some logs what it's blocking ?

 

Do you also get a message that you can't go online ? Does the library work ?

@TaylorSweetie This is usually cause by the security software blocking the gallery from writing the cache files to the cache folder.

What security software are you using ?

@crinrict It is Mcafee but I have seen those threads that state there is two specific security software that is doing that to people. I don't use either of those though and I have tried those solutions in that thread.

Does McAffee have ransomeware protection that's turned on ?
