I can't log in to my Sims 3 account.

I can't log in to my Sims 3 account. I bought it on Steam. Although both email address and password are correct, it says "The email address/password is invalid". I want to get achievements but I guess I need to log in to my account. What should I do?

@kanaryamm09  If your password contains special characters, e.g. & or !, change it to something with only letters and numbers.

If that's not the issue, clear the cache for Internet Explorer, which the game uses to store some data.  Be sure to uncheck the box to preserve data for favorite sites.
