I can't get rid of a smelly burnt leaf pile

On sims 3 my sim raked leaves and they were burnt but they have not turned to ash and it has gone round all the seasons 4 times now. No matter what i try the smell y leaves wont go away. Please help.

No MODs are installed, only a few expansion packs.

@AliseWonders  Try a testing cheats delete.  Bring up the cheats console (crtl-shift-C) and enter "testingcheatsenabled true" without quotes.  Then shift-click on the leaf pile and choose Delete.  Disable the cheat ("testingcheatsenabled false") when you're done.

As a warning, don't ever use this cheat on a sim.  It can and likely will corrupt your game.
