I play sims on a dell touch screen laptop and every time I press play I can hear it start but I cannot see it but when I press my screen it starts going faster but it won’t let me play with my mouse or my keys only my touch screen. It also lags when I try to use my mouse. I’ve had the game for a long to and before I had to reset my computer it worked fine what do I do?
@destinywaswag Please run a dxdiag and attach the results to a post here.
Please also list the packs you have installed.
@destinywaswag The dxdiag isn't supposed to fix anything. It gathers some information about your computer so that I can see whether there's an obvious problem. Please run it, save the whole thing as a text file, and attach it to a post, as the instructions in the link describe.
@destinywaswag Something went wrong with the dxdiag—it doesn't even list the basic information about your computer. For example, I can't see what model processor you have, or how much RAM is installed. Can you try running it again? You'll know that it worked when it's done, and the initial page you see lists that basic info. If it doesn't work again, that suggests a system issue and not necessarily one with Sims 3. (I can try to help with that too.)
@destinywaswag That dxdiag is much better, thanks.
The first thing to try is a clean boot of your computer. If you can run the game, great, that means that some other process was causing the problem. Here's how to clean boot; let me know whether it helps.
If that doesn't fix the issue, please run this driver utility to check for missing drivers:
Thank you @Holger1405 for the consult, as always.
