I bought the sims 4 on steam and have spent some time playing it, but recently I can’t open the game. When I check the game on Origin, it tells me “the origin store is currently disabled because it was launched from another application” and the buy now button appear on the sims 4 when I click it in Origin. My other origin games that I bought from steam work fine only the sims 4. Please help..

@imanjahuri25 Please clear Origin's cache, then uninstall it "the hard way."

Restart your computer, download the full Origin installer, and run it as an admin: right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator." This is a direct download link:

Restart again and see whether you can play Sims 4. Please try both with and without Origin already open before you press Play in Steam.

@imanjahuri25 Upgrading Windows shouldn't have anything to do with it. But if you want to be sure, you could uninstall Sims 4 and reinstall it from Steam. Your saves and other user-generated content are stored in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4, so make a copy of that entire folder (not in Documents; preferably on an external drive or USB) before uninstalling the game, in case the original gets deleted during the uninstall process.
By the way, are you sure that these two specific Steam and Origin accounts are still linked? If you unlinked them for any reason, or linked a different account instead, Origin wouldn't know you own the game in Steam and would block you from playing.
