I am forever having to re-check the EP and SP options in TheS3

I am in and out of my game on a regular basis as I test CC and I am so frustrated by having the game half loaded, and find that the EP/SP options have become unchecked, yet again . . all of them - so I am actually loading a base game.
Is there some way I can check them and have them stay checked, until I wish to alter the options? They weren't even an option until after TS3 was "superseded" by TS4 - so why are they now?
