How would I restore a wiped game?

After opening up the launcher, I selected 'new game' instead of the play symbol, since I thought it wouldn't be anything different. It took me to CAS, & I made my family as normal. After going to a world (Windenburg) I noticed that all of my other families were gone & replaced with the default lots & Sims. This was the same for all of the worlds. 

How would I restore my previous game with all of my old saves? I wasn't aware that pressing 'new game' would delete all of my saved families.

I moved your post to the The Sims 4 thread. If you refer to an other Sims game let us know.
