Disc or download version ? Did you check the Origin client if it's in myGames ?

What does it say on the Origin client ? Still play ? Then there's probably some left over files on your computer.
Try uninstalling following the instructions here: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall (only do it for sweet treats)
Also try the suggestion here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/Help-Guide-All-in-one-fix-except-hardware-issues-PC-only/m-p/734... where it says Delete game installers
