Game will Not start

I bought and Installed the Sims 3 for PC about a year ago. I enjoyed play and I did not have any problems until just after the newest patch. I click on play Sims 3 in the Origin app and an error message pops up saying Sims3launcher has stopped working windows is searching for a solution for a split second then closes. I have tried multiple fixes, including reinstalling everything 3 times. I also tried to bypass the launcher, which failed. I have tried every solution avaliable on the Forums. I run Windows 8, if that impacts it at all. Please help me!

Did you play it on this exact machine just before the patch?

Are your graphics drivers fully up to date?

Have you tried to launch it with Compatibility mode just to test? (win7)

I google'd this... it's old (2010) so it might not mean anything anymore:

go to document\electronic arts\sims 3\dc cache and delete the missingdeps.idx

wondering if your anti virus had something tio do with messing up the update happened to me, stopped me from bypassing the launcher and origin hijacked the TS3W file. What anti virus are you using? Are you downloading from IE? IE on windows 8 has it's own security too that could interfear with the game. I have my IE turned off!
